OUR ETHICS

At PHILYRA®, we put people at the heart of everything we do and we love our planet as much as our designs. Our mission is to continue spreading smiles through our products and services and we are committed to trading ethically and responsibly.

As a business, we have set out exactly what we mean by that in a series of formal commitments, which are divided into the following three categories:

  • Business principles
  • Employee care
  • Environmental safeguards

Our core values are based not only on our vision to grow and develop as a successful business, but also to provide real value to our customers and  employees whilst caring for the environment.

Our business principles

Acting with integrity and responsibility is deeply ingrained in the identity of PHILYRA®. Despite being a small business, we acknowledge that we are expected to manage the risk of unethical behaviour and to promote anti-corruption measures. In this context :

  • We will comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • We will conduct our business with integrity and value transparency
  • We will  always exercise the greatest vigilance with respect to our supply chain; we aim to build and maintain enduring and trustful relationships with suppliers that adhere to the standards set within the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base code, comply with our brand brand values and like us, are devoted to regular improve their ethical standards
  • We will not tolerate any kind of bribery, corruption and money laundering
  • All our donations  and contributions will be transparent 
  • We will keep our books and financial records accurately and completely so that they reflect our transactions and assets and comply with generally accepted accounting principles
  • We will respect national and international competition law and will not engage in any competitions or activities with regards to pricing and customer handling which  are in breach of such laws

Employee care

PHILYRA® is held accountable for creating a work environment that allows our employees to work with safety and dignity, respects human and labour rights and allows our team to thrive as professionals. We will continuously uphold the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and ensure compliance with its principles. As such:

  • All employment at PHILYRA® is and will always be freely chosen; we will not tolerate child nor forced labour
  • We will always provide wages that meet the national legal standard
  • We will always make sure that working hours are fair and not excessive and that regular employment is provided
  • We will maintain the highest standards in matters of health, hygiene and safety within the workplace
  • We will not tolerate any discrimination on the basis of factors including but not limited to race, religion, gender, age and disability
  • We will take responsibility in ensuring none of our employees are subject to any form of harassment, physical or verbal abuse or any other forms of intimidation
  • We will always respect the right of employees to lawfully join trade unions and engage in collective bargaining

    Environmental safeguard

    Here at PHILYRA® we are on a mission to continuously improve our environmental processes to keep our planet clean,safe and beautiful. Specifically: 

    • We are continuously looking for ways to reduce  the use of plastic in our products, packaging and supply chain. In 2020, we will continue exploring new materials that can ensure greater reusability by our customers and contribute to making a positive impact on our planet
    • We will reduce our consumption of water and energy in our studio and office and will minimise our environmental footprint by replacing our traditional bulbs with LED bulbs. 
    • We will manage our waste in a responsible manner
